RANGELY, COLO - The Colorado Northwestern Community College (CNCC) Athletics Department is excited to unveil the official
2025–26 men's and women's soccer schedules, marking another step forward for two growing programs in the Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC).
With a combination of high-level competition, regional rivalries, and a full slate of home matches at the beautiful Bud Striegel Family Soccer Field, both Spartan squads are poised for another exciting season this fall.
Building Momentum
Last season, CNCC Women's Soccer made history by earning a #19 national ranking—the highest in program history—and capped off the year with a Region 18 Tournament berth. With a core of returners and a strong incoming class, fourth-year head coach Eldon Brough is aiming even higher in 2025.
On the men's side, Head Coach Justin Motzkus continues to build a solid foundation entering year two at the helm. The Spartans showed steady improvement throughout last season and are expected to field one of their most competitive rosters yet.
"Our programs continue to grow and gain respect across the region and the country," said Athletic Director Zach Stevenson. "Coach Brough and Coach Motzkus have done a tremendous job developing their teams, and we're proud of the culture they're building. With the release of these schedules, there's a lot to look forward to."
Schedule Highlights
Both teams will begin the season with a pair of non-conference matchups before jumping into Scenic West action. Home games will take place at Bud Striegel Family Soccer Field, one of the premier soccer venues in the region—now equipped with a new state-of-the-art scoreboard installed last spring.
Key dates for fans to circle include:
-
Home Openers: Thursday, August 21 vs. Gillette College (Men's) / Saturday, August 23 vs. Mohave Community College (Women's)
-
SWAC Play Begins: Saturday, September 6 at Salt Lake CC (Both)
-
Sophomore Day: Saturday, October 25 vs. North Idaho College (Both)
The Scenic West continues to be one of the NJCAA's toughest conferences, but the Spartans are embracing the challenge with energy and purpose.
A Community Behind Them
As CNCC looks ahead to the 2025–26 campaign, the program is focused not only on competitive growth, but also on deepening ties with the Rangely community and continuing to provide a first-class experience for student-athletes.
"The atmosphere at Bud Striegel Field is something special," said Stevenson. "Between the new scoreboard, our growing support system, and the talent on both rosters, it's going to be an exciting fall."
Full schedules for both teams are now live on the CNCC Athletics Website. Both teams can be streamed during SWAC play on the Scenic West Network.
