Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

CNCC Soccer Teams Come Up Short Against North Idaho College

Both the Colorado Northwestern Community College (CNCC) men's and women's soccer teams faced tough matches against North Idaho College (NIC) on Thursday, with both teams falling short in their Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) contests.

Women's Soccer: Spartans Fall 3-0

The #19 ranked CNCC women's soccer team fought hard but was unable to find the back of the net in a 3-0 loss to North Idaho College. Despite generating 12 shots, five of which were on goal, the Spartans were held scoreless. North Idaho struck first with a goal in the 26th minute from Alvine Dah-Zossu, assisted by Kara Michaelis. Dah-Zossu added a second goal in the 69th minute, and Ellie Barrett rounded out the scoring with a third goal just minutes later in the 71st minute.

Jasmine Hernandez, CNCC's standout goalkeeper, recorded five saves during the match, but the relentless NIC attack proved too much for the Spartans. Despite the loss, CNCC remains a strong contender in SWAC play with a 6-2-2 overall record and 2-2-2 in conference play.

Men's Soccer: Late Goal Dooms Spartans in 4-2 Loss

The CNCC men's soccer team put up a valiant effort but came up short in a 4-2 loss to North Idaho College. After falling behind early with a goal in the 8th minute from Ismael Mane, the Spartans responded quickly with a goal by Dillon Bingham in the 24th minute to make it 2-1. Ryan Orr added another goal in the 61st minute to keep the Spartans in the match, but North Idaho's Mane completed his hat trick with a 73rd-minute goal to secure the win for NIC.

Goalkeeper Alejandro Jimenez made six saves for the Spartans, but despite the spirited play, CNCC couldn't overcome NIC's attack.

Looking Ahead:

Both CNCC teams will look to bounce back this Saturday, September 28th, when they take on Pacific Northwest Christian College in another conference matchup at Bud Striegel Family Soccer Field in Rangely. The Spartans are eager to turn the page and build momentum heading into the final stretch of the season.

Go Spartans!
