Colorado Northwestern's Head Women's Basketball Coach Steven Gilbert proudly announces the returning student-athletes from the 2019-2020 Spartan team: Courtney Freeman and Alyssa Civitak.

Courtney Freeman, from Cedaredge High School in Colorado, returns to this year's roster after averaging 9 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists a game last season. When CNCC named Coach Gilbert as the head women's coach, Courtney instantly picked up an offer to go play for a four year institute but she opted to come back and play for him.

When asked what her decision of coming back was, she responded "We have nothing to lose, and I want to continue being a leader both on and off the court. I am super excited about the energy Coach Gilbert brings, and I am excited to be the positive influence for helping changing the culture of this program."

Alyssa Civitak, from Kadoka Area High School in South Dakota, returns to this year's roster after averaging 8 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists a game. Civitak also instantly received an offer to go play for a four year college, however, she opted to come play her final Junior College year from Coach Gilbert.

When questioned on her decision to return, she responded, "It's plain and simple. I want to continue growing, and under Coach Gilbert's guidance, I know he will have me ready to dominate at a high level for the four year institute that I decide to go play for."

Students are expected to report to campus August 20^th, 2020 for move in day. This should be an exciting year under Coach Gilbert. We are looking forward to seeing what the program can offer the community, on and off the court.
