RANGELY, Colo (August 11th, 2023) - Stephen Carter has been announced as the next women's basketball coach at Colorado Northwestern Community College. Coach Carter comes to Rangely from Glendale, AZ where he has spent the pass two seasons at Glendale Community College as the assistant coach and then was promoted to Head Women's Basketball Coach.

Prior to his coaching at the NJCAA, Stephen spent three years as a Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at the Division II level, 2018-2019 he was at Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina. During his time at Belmont Abbey, he was a part of the recruiting process for instate and out of state players, he had a key role in player development. His specific player development was focused on the post player position. Coach Carter also spent two years at Upper Iowa University. Where his role of as a assistant coach was also player development for post players and to prepare the team and head coach each week with player scouting report and game planning.

When asked about his opportunity with the Lady Spartans, Coach Carter said, "I am honored and excited about building something special at CNCC". 

Stephen is newly married to his wife Emily Carter who works as a Clinical Mental Health Therapist. They will be moving to Rangely together, and the Spartan community is ready to welcome them.
