Lady Spartans secure first win of the season against North Platte CC

After a short turnaround from previous day's game against Eastern Wyoming CC, the Lady Spartans were back in action to take on the Knights of North Platte CC on Tuesday afternoon.

The Lady Spartans would come out and take a 14-10 lead at the end of the first quarter. The second would see a similar score, as CNCC would head into half time with a 28-22 advantage.

Third quarter action saw the Lady Spartans gain momentum offensively as a result from an increased effort defensively to cause the chaos this team prides itself on. CNCC would outscore North Platte 25-18 in the 3^rd quarter, taking a 53-40 advantage into the fourth quarter. CNCC would be able to withstand a North Platte comeback late in the 4^th quarter. Big plays from both McKleigh Begaye and Erin Mauro would help ensue CNCC's victory, with a final score of 66-60! The first win of the season, and of Coach Gilbert's coaching career at CNCC!

The Lady Spartans saw a collective team effort in this game to secure victory. Kalee McEwan (8 points, 10 rebounds), Jada Moss (6 points, 10 rebounds) were monsters on the glass! Kaley Woodruff (9 points, 8 rebounds), Courtney Freeman (6 points, 8 rebounds), Aiesha Feagins (11 points, 4 rebounds) and McKleigh Begaye (9 points, 3 assists) provided solid performances all around in this cohesive team effort.

The Lady Spartans are back at home on Wednesday (02/03) for their home opener against Central Wyoming CC. Tipoff is set for 5pm MT.
