Lady Spartans fall at home to Snow CC

Rangely, CO (02/13/21) – CNCC would lose in a Scenic West home game on Saturday night to visiting Snow CC.

Shooting woes would continue into this game for the Lady Spartans. First quarter action only saw CNCC connect on 3/12 FG attempts. The second quarter saw CNCC come to life offensively, combining to shoot 7/14 from the field, with Kaley Woodruff connecting leading the way with a quarter high of 8 points, connecting on 3/3 FG. Snow had built up a 16 point advantage, to which the Lady Spartans were able to trim down to only a 7 point advantage at 31-24 heading into the half.

The third quarter unfortunately saw shooting struggles again for CNCC. Only able to connect on 2/9 3pt FG attempts and 5/15 collectively from the floor, Snow was able to extend their lead heading into the 4th quarter up 53-39. While the 4th quarter saw CNCC connect on 4/7 from 3 point land, it would not be enough as the Lady Spartans would fall to a final score of 82-59.

CNCC was led in this game by Kaley Woodruff (14 points, 5 rebounds), Jada Moss (16 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists), Mckleigh Begaye (8 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists), and Courtney Freeman (9 points, 2 steals). The loss drops CNCC to 0-3 in conference, and 2-5 overall.


The Lady Spartans will take to the road on Monday (02/15) in a non-region matchup against against the Mustangs of Western Wyoming CC. Tip-off is 2pm MT.
