RANGELY, Colo. (November 3, 2021) - Season openers can be a chance for teams to showcase a new look, with new energy and new enthusiasm.
If that's the case, the Colorado Northwestern Community College Women's Basketball program showed well as the Lady Spartans earned a 71-66 win at Western Wyoming Community College. CNCC is now 1-0 overall with the win.
WWCC opened up with the early lead, powering to an 18-14 lead at the end of the first quarter. CNCC responded with a 17-11 run in the second quarter to move to a  31-29 halftime lead, outscoring Western Wyoming, 40-37, in the second half to earn the strong win. The game's competitiveness was told in its five lead changes and eight ties.
Aiesha Feagins scored 16 points on 5-of-9 shooting to lead CNCC, whileÂ
Ashana Hinds posted 15 points.
Khia Lee finished with 6 points and 12 rebounds.
Colorado Northwestern will play next against Central Wyoming on Nov. 9.Â
