CNCC Women's Basketball searching for league win in final Scenic West road swing

RANGELY, Colo. (February 5, 2020) - It's been a long, hard grind through the Scenic West Athletic Conference season for the Colorado Northwestern Community College women's basketball team but the Lady Spartans are still searching for improvement.

CNCC will attempt to power to its first league win in the conclusion to a four-game road swing this week, facing off against longtime rivals Snow College and Salt Lake Community College. While last week's results were certainly tough to stomach for the Lady Spartans, the team will have a shot at redemption in this week's contests.

CNCC coach Sherryl Klosterman said her team is still focused on improving, in spite of the adversity they have been dealt.

"This week is a big week for us," she said. "Snow has been playing extremely well as of late and SLCC is always tough. We are looking forward to the match-ups and the challenge it brings us. We have been scoring better in our recent games and will look to increase our pressure and intensity defensively this week."

The Lady Spartans will open this week's road trip with a game at Snow College on Thursday. The Lady Badgers are just 2-5 in league play, coming off a loss to USU Eastern last week. Salt Lake is also coming off a loss, falling for the first time of the league season last Saturday at Southern Idaho. SLCC and USU Eastern are both tied at the top of the Scenic West standings. CNCC is 0-3 against Snow and SLCC this weekend.

Colorado Northwestern will play at Snow College on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. in Ephraim. The Lady Spartans will then travel to the Wasatch Front for a 1:00 p.m. matchup with Salt Lake Community College.
