RANGELY, Colo. (November 2, 2019) – The Colorado Northwestern Community College women's basketball team suffered a defeat to end a preseason tournament Saturday.
 
Playing in a two-game tournament at Western Wyoming Community College, the Lady Spartans fell in the tourney finale to Central Wyoming, 74-54. The loss drops CNCC to 0-2 on the season.
 
CNCC and Central Wyoming were tied 28-28 at halftime before CWC went on a 25-8 run in the third quarter to pull away for good. Defensively, Central Wyoming limited the Lady Spartans to a shooting percentage of just .293 (17-of-58). 

Alyssa Civitak led CNCC with 20 points, making 7-of-9 free throws. Talia Afuvai finished with 12 points.  

Colorado Northwestern will play its home opener on Tuesday inside Hefley Gym against Western Wyoming. The game is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
