RANGELY, Colo. (October 26, 2019) - The Colorado Northwestern Community College volleyball team struggled in a matchup with a nationally-ranked Scenic West Athletic Conference foe Saturday.
The Lady Spartans lost 3-0 (12-25, 12-15, 18-25) to No. 12 USU Eastern Saturday, losing for the second time to their regional rival this season. The loss drops CNCC to 4-17 overall and 1-7 in Scenic West play.
CNCC struggled to attack against the 12th-ranked Eagles, committing 26 errors in the match. The Lady Spartans took a 5-0 lead to start the third set but were downed again by USU Eastern's efficient offensive attack. Trailing 15-14 in the third set, CNCC saw USU Eastern go on a 4-0 run to take control of the final set.
Haley Naea led the team with 10 kills, while
Brilynd Pence had a team-high 13 assists.
Braedyn Peters finished with 11 digs.Â
Colorado Northwestern will take to the road for the final weekend of Scenic West Athletic Conference play. The Lady Spartans will play at the College of Southern Nevada on Thursday, traveling to face Snow College Saturday to close the regular season.Â
