RANGELY, Colo. (October 12, 2019) - The Colorado Northwestern Community College volleyball team has claimed a victory in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
The Lady Spartans earned a 3-1 (25-11, 22-25, 26-24, 25-19) win over the College of Southern Nevada Saturday, controlling a defensive matchup that ended in a CNCC victory. The win lifts CNCC to 4-14 overall and 1-4 in Scenic West play.
Colorado Northwestern controlled early in the match and used the early momentum to propel to the first league win of the season. The Lady Spartans did a particularly good job of forcing CSN into making mistakes as the Lady Coyotes had a match-high 38 errors, compared to CNCC's 15 errors.
Brilynd Pence led CNCC with a double-double of 11 kills and 18 assists, while Haley Haea had 10 kills in the win.
Braedyn Peters finished with a team-high 26 digs.
Colorado Northwestern will host a pair of matches next weekend against Scenic West foes. First, CNCC will host No. 8 Salt Lake Community College on Thursday in a '90's Night' promotion. The Lady Spartans will host the College of Southern Idaho on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. for the annual 'Sophomore Day' festivities.
