Rangely, CO —  Colorado Northwestern Community College (CNCC) is thrilled to announce the exciting expansion of its athletic program with the addition of Cross-Country to its roster of sports, with the expectation of competition starting in the fall of 2024. This new endeavor reflects CNCC's commitment to fostering a diverse and dynamic campus experience, offering students and the Rangely community an opportunity to engage in the invigorating world of cross-country running. 

Athletics Director Zach Stevenson enthusiastically made the announcement, expressing his belief in the positive impact this addition will have on both the college and the local community. 

"At CNCC, we are constantly seeking ways to enhance the student experience and contribute to the vibrancy of our community. The introduction of Cross-Country aligns perfectly with our commitment to providing opportunities for personal growth, teamwork, and physical well-being," said Stevenson. 

The decision to introduce Cross-Country comes after careful consideration of student interests, community feedback, and the desire to offer a well-rounded selection of athletic programs. CNCC is confident that this addition will not only attract passionate athletes but will also contribute to the overall health and wellness of the student body. 

CNCC will commence the search for a dedicated and experienced full-time Cross-Country coach immediately. The chosen coach will play a pivotal role in shaping the program, guiding athletes towards success, and fostering a culture of sportsmanship and dedication.
