Box Score RANGELY, Colo. (December 14, 2022) – The Colorado Northwestern Community College Women's Basketball team competed hard in its Scenic West Athletic Conference opener Wednesday but fell short to a nationally ranked opponent.
 
Opening league play at No. 14 Salt Lake, the Lady Spartans were competitive but ended up losing 78-67 to the Bruins. CNCC is now 4-6 overall and 0-1 in league play.
 
Colorado Northwestern started the game strong, posting a 35-31 halftime lead, The Lady Spartans would lead by as many as 8 points midway through the third quarter, prior to the Bruins going on a run that saw them outscore CNCC 47-32 in the second half.
 
Eva Kingston had a game-high 26 points for Colorado Northwestern, going 4-of-8 from three-point range. Hailey Long had 13 points, while Jessie Ford scored 12 points. 
 
The Lady Spartans will travel to play at Snow College on Saturday.
