Playing in a preseason tournament hosted by Western Wyoming Community College, the Spartans dropped a 70-45 decision to Western Wyoming on Friday to open the season. CNCC also had a 104-73 loss to Central Wyoming.
 
Colorado Northwestern will play next on Nov. 17 against Western Nebraska Community College.
 
Western Wyoming 70, Colorado Northwestern 45: A tough second half downed the Spartans.
 
CNCC was outscored 43-19 in the second half, shooting just 21.7 percent. Tommy Huynh scored 12 points to lead the Spartans.
 
Central Wyoming 104, Colorado Northwestern 73: Turnovers hurt the Spartans in a preseason loss.
 
CNCC committed 23 turnovers in the loss, with Central Wyoming scoring 29 points off those turnovers. Tommy Huynh scored 17 points to lead Colorado Northwestern, while Isaiah West posted 16 points. Pablo Torres also contributed 15 points.
