Box Score RANGELY, Colo. (November 3, 2022) – The Colorado Northwestern Community College Women's Basketball team fell in its season opener Thursday.
 
CNCC dropped a 72-52 decision to Western Wyoming Community College, opening a weekend tournament with a loss. A 14-7 run by Western Wyoming played a large role in downing the Lady Spartans.
 
Colorado Northwestern shot forty percent from the field in the game (18-of-45). Where CNCC struggled was at the three-point line (5-of-20) and the free-throw line (11-of-24); Western Wyoming also scored 20 points off Lady Spartan turnovers.
 
Eva Kingston led Colorado Northwestern with 15 points 4 rebound, and 2 steals, while Carolynn Washington posted 12 points and 3 rebounds in the loss. Jessie Ford scored 10 points and added 5 rebounds.
 
The Lady Spartans will continue play at a weekend tournament at Western Wyoming on Friday.
