A Weekend Filled With Fun and Success

Berk Barns Hole in One
The CNCC Spartan baseball program enjoyed much success this past weekend as they hosted their annual golf tournament fundraiser on Saturday, September 25, at the Cedar Ridges Golf Course.  The winning foursome for the day consisted of Nate Terrin, Chris Hejl, Clark Edwards, and Trevor Anderson, who shot a 55 (-17). However, the day's highlight came when CNCC's freshman first baseman and pitcher, Berk Barnes (Alpine, Utah), took home the longest drive contest and sunk a hole in one on hole number seven to win the closest to the pin contest.  AGAIN, the CNCC baseball program would thank all of the numerous hole sponsors and golfers who made the day a huge success.

The next day, the Spartans hosted the Rocky Mountain Oysters collegiate prep baseball team for a doubleheader.  The Spartans took home two victories on the day, with the first game-ending 10-8 in favor of the Spartans and the second game-ending 14-7, with the Spartans coming out on top.  Many Spartans enjoyed success on the day as Tyler Biddinger (Newport, Oregon) threw his best performance of the season so far with a seven-pitch inning and Sias Lopez (Eloy, Arizona) knocking his first home run of the fall season.

The Spartans will look to continue to stay notching marks in the win column as they host the Rattlers from Otero Junior College (La Junta, Colorado) on Saturday, October 2.  The doubleheader will start at 10 am, and the second game will commence immediately at the end of game one. Your Spartans enjoyed the crowd support on Saturday. They would like to encourage people to continue showing up and supporting them during games throughout the fall season and into the spring season.
