College of Southern Nevada captures lead early to defeat Colorado Northwestern in Game 1. The Spartans fell behind early and couldn't come back in an 11-5 loss to College of Southern Nevada on Friday. Colorado Northwestern struggled to contain the high-powered offense of College of Southern Nevada, giving up 11 runs. The Spartans notched four runs in the third inning.
Abraham Arroyo and
Evan Bunevich powered the big inning with RBIs. Josh Swales was the winning pitcher for College of Southern Nevada.
Grady Norris took the loss for the Spartans. Norris surrendered nine runs on nine hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three.
Abraham Arroyo went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Colorado Northwestern in hits.
In Game 2 the Spartans couldn't keep up with College of Southern Nevada and fell 8-1. Colorado fired up the offense in the second inning, when
Brandon Rodriguez drew a walk, scoring one run. College of Southern Nevada pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third Johny Cuevas hit a solo homer and Trey Frahm singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run. College of Southern Nevada scored three more runs in the sixth inning. Garrett Mahoney took the win for College of Southern Nevada.
Donovan Greenwell took the loss for the Spartans. Greenwell lasted five innings, allowing ten hits and five runs while striking out one and walking zero.
Ryder Christensen led Colorado Northwestern with two hits in four at bats. The Spartans will take on CSN in their last home game of the season on Saturday starting at 11:00 am on Saturday
