Box Score RANGELY, Colo. (February 9, 2021) – The Colorado Northwestern Community College men's basketball team earned a strong victory in its Scenic West Athletic Conference opener Tuesday.

The Spartans picked up a commanding win in a road game at USU Eastern, downing the Eagles by a final score of 85-65. The win boosts CNCC to 2-3 overall and 1-0 in Scenic West play.
Colorado Northwestern jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in the win, leading 37-27 at halftime. CNCC trailed midway through the first quarter, 22-18, before going on a 7-0 run to establish command. Defense also played a strong role in the Spartan victory, with USU Eastern shooting just 37 percent in the second half.Â
Azarien Stephens finished with 25 points on a perfect 8-of-8 shooting performance, while
Chuol Deng-Wal finished with a double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds.
Rhaven Brown scored 15 points and had 10 rebounds to also finish with a double-double.Â

Colorado Northwestern will host No. 3 Salt Lake Community College on Thursday inside Hefley Gym. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start.
