RANGELY, Colo. (November 4, 2021) - A preview of Scenic West Athletic Conference action came early for the Colorado Northwestern Community College Men's Basketball program.
CNCC dropped a game to longtime rival Southern Idaho to open a weekend tournament Thursday, falling 81-71 to the Golden Eagles. The loss drops Colorado Northwestern to 0-2 overall.
Southern Idaho jumped out to a 39-27 halftime lead over CNCC, with the Spartans shooting just 27 percent from the field (10-of-37). Colorado Northwestern shot 34.8 percent from the field for the game, shooting just 57.7 percent from the free-throw line (15-of-26).
Jaden Stoffel led Colorado Northwestern with 21 points, while
Trevon Cason posted 11 points. Both
Nahsyah Bolar and
Rhaven Brown scored 10 points apiece for CNCC.
The Spartans will play Lee College Friday at 3:30 p.m.
