RANGELY, Colo. (February 19, 2020) – The Colorado Northwestern Community College men's basketball team may be finishing the regular season this week but that doesn't mean the team is letting off on its goals of improvement.
Â
Preparing for a game on Saturday against longtime rival Snow College, the Spartans are looking to add a victory to the win total and move into next week's Region 18 championships with a strong slate of momentum.
Â
CNCC coach
Nathan Terrin said playing well in this week's game will provide his team with valuable momentum moving forward.
Â
"This is our final chance to fine tune things before the conference tournament," he said. "This is where we take what we learned all year and utilize it for the tournament and improve upon it for the offseason."
Â
Snow has downed Colorado Northwestern in their previous two matchups, earning a double-digit road win early in January, followed up by a strong home win in Ephraim. Snow is currently sitting in second place in the Scenic West standings.
Â
Terrin said his program will have much to prepare for with the Badgers.
"This is a big game for us as it is the last home game for many of the sophomores and our last chance to play before it is win or go home," he said.Â
Â
Colorado Northwestern will host Snow at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday inside Hefley Gym. The Region 18 championships are scheduled for next weekend.Â
