CNCC Men's Basketball looks to get on track against Southern Idaho

RANGELY, Colo. (January 8, 2020) - The Colorado Northwestern Community College men's basketball team returns home for its Scenic West Athletic Conference opener on Saturday.

The Spartans will host longtime SWAC power Southern Idaho inside Hefley Gym at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, looking to rebound after falling to Salt Lake Community College in last weekend's league opener.  In preparation for a Southern Idaho squad who earned a win to open league play over USU Eastern, CNCC is looking to improve its focus on fundamentals.

"Our first conference game was an eye opener for us," said Spartans coach Nathan Terrin. "We are excited to be back at home for the first time in awhile. We have been playing better but this is no time to take steps back."

True to Terrin's words, this Saturday's home matchup will be the first home game Colorado Northwestern will play since November 25. Southern Idaho opened league play with a 69-55 home win over USU Eastern, facing a road game against Salt Lake Community College on Thursday. CSI went 11-7 in the preseason, going 2-1 in the 'Fiesta Bowl Junior College Shootout' entering league play.

CNCC's game will start at 5:00 p.m. inside Hefley Gym. The Spartans will host Snow College the following week before traveling to play USU Eastern on Saturday, Jan. 18.
