CNCC to host No. 20 Salt Lake on Saturday

RANGELY, Colo. (January 23, 2020) – There were moments of glory and moments of frustration for the Colorado Northwestern Community College men's basketball team in the first third of the Scenic West Athletic Conference season, with the program consistently showing it had the ability to compete in the league.

Entering the second run-through of league play, the Spartans are taking their 1-3 record in league play that has them sitting in a tie for third place in the league standings, looking for more opportunity going forward. That quest begins this Saturday with a home game against nationally-ranked Salt Lake Community College.

CNCC coach Nathan Terrin said he's proud of the progress his team has made and is looking forward to improvement as time goes on.

The Spartans will have no easy task in hosting Salt Lake this weekend. The Bruins, who are ranked in the latest NJCAA Top-25 polls, went undefeated in their first run through Scenic West play. Boasting a perfect 4-0 record in league play, Salt Lake will host Snow College on Saturday before traveling to face off against CNCC on Saturday.

CNCC's game with No. 20 Salt Lake will be played at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday inside Hefley Gym.
