RANGELY, Colo. (January 18, 2020) – A Scenic West Athletic Conference road game ended in a tough loss for the Colorado Northwestern Community College men's basketball team on Saturday.

The Spartans fell in a 79-72 decision to USU Eastern, finishing the first part of Scenic West play with a 1-3 record. CNCC's overall record is 3-19 with the loss.

USU Eastern led 37-30 at halftime, holding CNCC to just 34.6 percent shooting. The Spartans came back in the second half, staying even with CNCC on a 42-42 margin in the half. However, 19 turnovers hurt Colorado Northwestern throughout the game, with the Eagles scoring 18 points on those turnovers.
Azarien Stephens posted 24 points in the victory, with
Jalaughn Jackson scoring 10 points.
Rhaven Brown scored 9 points.Â

Colorado Northwestern will host Salt Lake Community College in a league game next weekend.
