RANGELY, Colo. (November 7, 2019) - The Colorado Northwestern Community College volleyball team will open the postseason this weekend.

After a long Scenic West Athletic Conference season, the Lady Spartans have qualified as the No. 5 seed in this weekend's Region 18 tournament in Ephraim, Utah. CNCC finished the league season going 2-8 in league play, downing Southern Nevada in both matchups. Colorado Northwestern will play No. 4 Salt Lake Community College in Friday's opening round at 1:00 p.m.

CNCC coach Ashley Bryant said her team is optimistic about their matchup in the postseason.

Colorado Northwestern had two spirited matchups with Salt Lake during the regular season. The Bruins, who were nationally-ranked for most of the year, downed CNCC in both matches but the set scores were close. Salt Lake went 5-5 in Scenic West play, part of a 22-10 overall record.

CNCC's match against Salt Lake is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday in Ephraim and will be streamed on the Scenic West Digital Network. The winner of the CNCC-SLCC matchup will play top-seeded Snow College in a Friday evening semifinal at 7:00 p.m.
