Colorado Northwestern Community College (CNCC) is excited to announce the appointment of Chris McKenzie as the new head softball coach. McKenzie joins the Spartans from North Carolina A&T, where he served as an assistant softball coach, bringing a wealth of experience and a strong background in both playing baseball and coaching softball.

Born and raised in Georgia, McKenzie's journey in baseball began at Stockbridge High School, where he excelled as an infielder and earned multiple accolades for his outstanding performance. Following high school, he continued his athletic career at Paine College, playing as a starting pitcher. His exceptional performance on the field and deep understanding of the game laid the foundation for his future in coaching. McKenzie later transferred to Claflin University, continuing his role as a starting pitcher and further honing his skills.

Transitioning from player to coach, McKenzie accumulated extensive experience as an assistant coach at two notable institutions. At Claflin University, he was instrumental in developing training programs, mentoring student-athletes, and contributing to the team's strategic planning. His tenure at North Carolina A&T further showcased his coaching prowess, where he helped guide the team to significant victories and fostered a culture of excellence and teamwork.

McKenzie is committed to bringing his expertise, passion, and dedication to the CNCC softball team. His comprehensive background in both playing and coaching will undoubtedly inspire and elevate the Spartan athletes, leading them to achieve new levels of success on and off the field.
