RANGELY, Colo. (February 4, 2022) - It was a tough start for the Colorado Northwestern Community College Softball program in an Arizona preseason tournament Friday.

The Lady Spartans were downed in a doubleheader to open the 'Great Western Shootout', falling in a 13-8 decision to host Arizona Western to open the tournament. CNCC was then handed a 24-1 loss by Central Arizona later in the day. Colorado Northwestern is now 0-7 overall.

CNCC will return to the field Saturday, facing off against Eastern Arizona and Yavapai to close the tournament.
