Spartans Earn Massive 2–1 Road Victory Over College of Southern Idaho

TWIN FALLS, Idaho — The Colorado Northwestern Community College (CNCC) Women's Soccer team continued its late-season surge with another critical Scenic West Athletic Conference win, defeating College of Southern Idaho 2–1 on Saturday afternoon in Twin Falls.

The Spartans delivered a poised and disciplined performance, securing three crucial points in the standings as the postseason approaches.

After a scoreless first half, CNCC struck early in the second when Ashlee Harris scored unassisted in the 46th minute to give the Spartans a 1–0 lead.

Moments later, Hali'a Pelton extended the advantage with a composed finish in the 61st minute, assisted by Macie Hoskins.

Southern Idaho managed to cut the deficit to one with a goal in the 81st minute, but the Spartans' defense held strong the rest of the way. Goalkeeper Jasmine Hernandez was once again steady in net, recording four saves to secure the victory.

Head Coach Eldon Brough praised his team's determination and focus: "Our players have shown incredible toughness down the stretch," Brough said. "Every game matters right now, and they're responding with energy and composure. This was another great step for us toward where we want to be."

With the win, CNCC improves to 8–6–1 overall (6–5–1 SWAC), staying firmly in the hunt for a Scenic West playoff berth. The Spartans' back-to-back road victories highlight a team finding its rhythm at the perfect time.

Next up, CNCC will prepare for its final stretch of regular-season play as they continue to battle for postseason positioning in one of the most competitive conferences in the NJCAA. On Thursday, October 23rd they will face off with Pacific Northwest Christian College at 1:00 pm.
