Spartans Secure Gritty 1–0 Road Win Over Truckee Meadows

RENO, Nev. — The Colorado Northwestern Community College (CNCC) Women's Soccer team earned an important Scenic West Athletic Conference victory Thursday afternoon, defeating Truckee Meadows Community College 1–0 on the road.

The Spartans controlled the pace early, creating several quality chances before Ashlee Harris broke through with the lone goal of the match in the 44th minute on an unassisted strike just before halftime.

The CNCC defense held firm for the full 90 minutes, anchored by goalkeeper Jasmine Hernandez, who recorded two key saves to preserve the shutout. Strong defensive efforts from Macie Hoskins, Taygen Overall, and Andelyn Jensen kept Truckee Meadows off balance throughout, while midfielders Amelia Warner and Lilly Wittwer helped the Spartans maintain possession and control the tempo.

Head Coach Eldon Brough praised his team's resilience and composure:

"This was a tough, grind-it-out road win," Brough said. "Our women showed tremendous focus and heart. Every player bought in and executed their role, and that's what it takes to win these late-season conference games."

The victory lifts CNCC to 7-6-1 overall (5-5-1 SWAC) as the Spartans continue to battle for postseason positioning.

Next up, CNCC will travel to Twin Falls, Idaho, for a pivotal matchup against College of Southern Idaho on Saturday, October 18 — a contest with major playoff implications in the Scenic West standings.

Spartan fans can catch the action on the Scenic West Network.
