RANGELY, Colo. (February 4, 2023) – The Colorado Northwestern Community College Men's Basketball team competed hard in a Scenic West Athletic Conference home loss.
Hosting No. 5 Salt Lake, the Spartans dropped a 99-48 decision to the Bruins. Colorado Northwestern is now 2-20 overall and 0-11 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
CNCC was competitive early, holding a narrow 17-16 lead with 10:44 left in the first half. The Spartans struggled defensively from there though, with Salt Lake holding a 42-28 lead at halftime. CNCC went 0-of-10 from three-point range in the second half.
Knowledge Ruben led the Spartans with 14 points.
Tommy Huynh contributed 13 points, while
Donovan Maestas finished with 11 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the free-throw line.
The Spartans will travel for three games at Community Christian College, playing Tuesday through Thursday.
