RANGELY, Colo. (January 20, 2022) – The Colorado Northwestern Community College Men's Basketball team found its way to a thrilling Scenic West Athletic Conference win Thursday.
Hosting Community Christian College, the Spartans powered their way to an 83-79 win over CCC in Hefley Gym, preserving a narrow lead late to earn the win. CNCC is now 5-11 overall and 3-6 in Scenic West play with the win.
Colorado Northwestern had a crisp performance in the first half, shooting 50 percent from the field and going 5-of-8 from the floor to hold a 46-38 halftime lead. Missed foul shots did plague the Spartans throughout the game, with CNCC going just 24-of-38 from the free-throw line.
Playing short-handed due to COVID-affected players,
Dom Rivas scored 21 points to lead CNCC.
Noah Valdez posted 20 points, while
Nahsyah Bolar finished with 18 points. Kok Dow scored 14 points on 4-of-5 shooting.
Colorado Northwestern will host Southern Nevada on Saturday, with a scheduled tipoff of 3:00 p.m.
