RANGELY, Colo. (December 16, 2021) – A slow start offensively doomed the Colorado Northwestern Community College Men's Basketball team against the NJCAA's top team Thursday.

Playing in a Scenic West Athletic Conference road game, CNCC fell 139-65 to No. 1 Salt Lake, trailing 56-23 at halftime and never recovering. The Spartans are now 3-9 overall and 1-4 in Scenic West games.

Offensive struggles by CNCC allowed SLCC to jump out to a big lead, with Colorado Northwestern shooting just 27.27 percent in the first half. CNCC also committed 36 turnovers in the loss, leading to 54 Salt Lake points.Â

Tommy Huynh was an offensive highlight for the Spartans, scoring 21 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field and a 10-of-11 performance from three-point range. Kok Dow scored 12 points.Â

Colorado Northwestern will travel to play at USU Eastern Saturday.
