RANGELY, Colorado – The Colorado Northwestern Community College Women's Basketball team went 1-1 this past weekend at the Husky Classic, hosted by the Air Force Prep Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. CNCC opened the two-day classic against Midland College (TX) who is currently ranked No. 20 in the NJCAA Division I rankings.
The Lady Spartans traded baskets with Midland College to open the game on Friday and trailed 13-10 with 1:50 left in the 1
st quarter. A 7-0 Midland run to end the quarter had the Lady Spartans trailing by 10 points (20-10) heading into the second quarter. The Lady Spartans came out strong again in the second quarter and traded blows with Midland College, until another late 10-2 run to end the quarter had CNCC down 18 heading into halftime.
CNCC was able to cut the deficit to 12 points several times in the 2
nd half of basketball, but wasn't able to recover on their way to a 91-58 loss. The Lady Spartans were led in scoring by
Shelby Harvey with 15 points (6-11 FGA). Also contributing to CNCC's scoring were

Shelby Harvey led the Lady Spartans in rebounding with six for the game while Rodriguez led the team in assists with four on the afternoon.
