Jaxon Barlow

Coach Jaxon Barlow returns to Colorado Northwestern Community College as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach, entering his first season leading the Spartans with a deep passion for the game and a full-circle connection to the program he once played for as a student-athlete.

Barlow spent the 2024–25 season as the assistant men’s basketball coach at Northeastern Junior College (NJC), where he helped guide a competitive Region IX program. Prior to NJC, he served for two years at Snow College as the assistant women’s basketball coach, physical education instructor, and Director of Intramurals. His coaching experience across both men’s and women’s collegiate basketball, paired with his background in education and student engagement, gives him a well-rounded perspective on player development and team culture.

Barlow began his collegiate playing career at CNCC before transferring to Westminster University in Salt Lake City, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Sports Management. He went on to play professionally in England while completing a master’s degree in Sports Management at Bournemouth University. His experience as a player at the two-year, four-year, and international levels brings valuable insight to his role as a mentor and coach.

A quote that defines Barlow’s coaching philosophy comes from Kobe Bryant: “Determination wins games, but detail wins championships.” He believes lasting success is built through hard work, preparation, and an unwavering attention to detail.

Coach Barlow resides in Rangely with his wife, Maddi, and their dog, Loki. He is proud to return to CNCC and lead the men’s basketball program into a new chapter grounded in discipline, accountability, and Spartan pride.
