Eric Benedick enters into his third year at CNCC for the 2022/2023 season. The 2021/2022 season saw Benedick elevate CNCC's win total from the previous 3 years combined. Under Benedick's leadership, the program has produced 2 All-Region 18 Selections, 2 NJCAA Academic-All Americans, and 7 Region 18 All-Academic recipients. Benedick has successfully moved 5 CNCC players on to various university levels on athletic & academic scholarships (NCAA D1, D2, and NAIA). The 2021 Covid19-season saw Benedick serve as both Assistant & Interim Head Coach.
Prior to arriving at CNCC, Benedick competed internationally as a professional player with experience in Iceland, Thailand, England, and Ireland. He also has competed domestically in the PBA for the New Mexico BlueTails. His prior coaching experience stems from the club level for the New Mexico Clippers in various national tournament series such as the Adidas Gauntlet, Premier Basketball Report, and USJN Nationals. He constructed & coached the New Mexico Elite team to the 2019 Gold Championship at the Native American Basketball Invitational (NABI), as well as winning the 2019 PBR Super 64 National.
Benedick, a native of Albuquerque, NM., holds an MSc in Physical Education & Sports Administration (Eastern New Mexico University), an MAIS in Psychology & Business Administration (Western New Mexico University), and a BA in Interpersonal Communication (University of New Mexico). Benedick is also a USA Basketball Gold Licensed coach.
