Spartan Women’s Soccer Shuts Out College of Southern Idaho

RANGELY, Colo. – The Colorado Northwestern Community College (CNCC) women's soccer team picked up a huge Scenic West Athletic Conference victory on Saturday afternoon, defeating College of Southern Idaho 2-0 at the Bud Striegel Family Soccer Field.

The Spartans wasted no time getting on the board, as Amelia Warner struck in the 7th minute with an unassisted goal to give CNCC an early lead.

The Spartan defense, led by goalkeeper Jasmine Hernandez, kept CSI off the scoresheet in the first half, with Hernandez recording a key save to preserve the 1-0 advantage.

In the second half, Warner delivered again. Assisted by Peyton Smith, she found the back of the net in the 59th minute to extend the lead to 2-0.

From there, CNCC's back line held strong, limiting CSI to just four total shots in the match.

Hernandez finished the day with two saves for the clean sheet, while Warner's brace proved the difference as the Spartans improved to 4-4 overall (2-3 SWAC).

Looking Ahead

With back-to-back wins at home this week, CNCC women's soccer has built momentum heading into the next stretch of conference play. The Spartans will now prepare for another key Scenic West matchup on the road as they head to Pacific Northwest Christian College and North Idaho College next week.

Fans can continue to follow the Spartans all season long, with all home and conference matches streamed live on the Scenic West Network.
