Colorado Northwestern Community College (CNCC) baseball standout Michael Deitz has been named the Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) Player of the Week after a dominant offensive performance in the Spartans' recent series against Cochise College in Arizona.
Deitz, CNCC's power-hitting first baseman, put together an incredible series at the plate, posting video game-like numbers that earned him well-deserved recognition. Over the course of the series, Deitz hit an astounding .714 while reaching base at an incredible .833 clip. His power was on full display as well, boasting a 1.142 slugging percentage and a 1.975 OPS.

Whether it was driving in key runs, working deep counts, or showing his speed on the bases, Deitz delivered in every aspect of the game to help lead the Spartans against a tough Cochise pitching staff.
"Michael has been locked in at the plate, and his ability to consistently find ways to produce runs has been huge for us," said CNCC Head Coach Lou McCollum. "He's showing what kind of hitter he is—patient, powerful, and a leader in our lineup. This recognition is well-earned, and we're excited to see what he continues to do this season."
Deitz's performance highlights the growth of CNCC's baseball program and the level of talent competing in Rangely. CNCC takes great pride in developing its student-athletes to compete at the highest level, and Deitz's SWAC Player of the Week honor is another example of that commitment paying off.
