CNCC Women’s Soccer Qualifies for Region 18 Tournament for the First Time in Program History

For the first time ever, Colorado Northwestern Community College (CNCC) women's soccer team has clinched a spot in the Region 18 Tournament! The Spartans secured their place in the postseason with a resounding 11-1 victory over Pacific Northwest Christian College on the final day of regular season play, solidifying their position in a tight race for the tournament's final spot.

With the stakes high, the Spartans took control early in the match. Allee Williams scored the first goal for CNCC in the 9th minute, assisted by Amelia Warner. Ashlee Harris, Ashley Gastello, and Avery Cardenas each followed with goals, giving CNCC a commanding 4-1 lead by halftime. The Spartans continued their offensive dominance in the second half, with Lilly Wittwer leading the way by scoring four goals, while Amelia Warner contributed with a goal and three assists.

While CNCC took care of business with a decisive win, they also needed a favorable result from the match between Truckee Meadows Community College and Utah State University Eastern (USUE). A 0-0 tie between Truckee Meadows and USUE helped CNCC claim the final tournament spot in a three-way tie for eligibility, marking a historic first for the program.

The Spartans are now set to make their Region 18 Tournament debut against the host, Salt Lake Community College, on October 31st at 8:00 am.

Head Coach Eldon Brough expressed immense pride and excitement, saying, "This team has worked incredibly hard all season, and to see their dedication pay off with our first-ever Region 18 Tournament berth is truly special. We're thrilled to continue this journey and compete at the next level."

Congratulations to the CNCC women's soccer team on this historic achievement—Go Spartans!
