CASPER, Wyo. – The Colorado Northwestern Men's Basketball team played two games in Casper Dec. 1-2, and suffered two losses at the hands of Casper College and North Idaho College.
Friday's game was against the hosting Thunderbirds. The Spartans showed strong in the first half, holding Casper College to just 28 points. However, CNCC's offense proved sluggish and only produced 24 first-half points. In the second half, the Thunderbirds pulled away in front of their home crowd, pouring in 50 points and holding Colorado Northwestern to 29 points. That led to final score of 78-53.
Cole Johnson led the way for CNCC with 14 points and nine rebounds.
On Saturday, Colorado Northwestern played a non-conference game against North Idaho. It was a high-scoring affair that saw five Spartans score in double figures.
Cole Johnson notched 15 points and eight rebounds.
Santiago Casarin added 14 points.
AJ Creech and
Jude Ballstaedt tallied 13 points apiece.
Tyler Christensen rounded it out with 12 points. That production was not enough for CNCC as North Idaho took a 92-80 win.
