RANGELY, Colo. (January 25, 2023) – A week of home games did not start well for the Colorado Northwestern Community College Women's Basketball team Wednesday.
 
Playing host to longtime Scenic West power Salt Lake, the Lady Spartans suffered a 74-53 loss to the Bruins, falling to 1-7 in Scenic West games. CNCC is now 5-12 overall.
 
CNCC came out strong, taking a 35-29 lead at halftime after outscoring Salt Lake 19-9 in the second quarter. The Lady Spartans' defense made the difference as SLCC went just 12-of-35 from the field in the first half. 
 
Unfortunately for Colorado Northwestern, the script flipped in the second half, with the Lady Spartans going only 7-of-28 from the field. CNCC also went just 6-of-29 from three-point range. 
 
Eva Kingston led the Lady Spartans with 11 points, while Jessie Ford and Hailey Long scored just 10 points each. Madison Thomas finished with 9 points. 
 
Colorado Northwestern will host Snow College on Saturday.
