RANGELY, Colo. (November 17, 2022) – The Colorado Northwestern Community College Men's Basketball team opened its 2022-23 home schedule Thursday, hosting a longtime regional rival.
 
CNCC faced off against Western Nebraska Community College, narrowly falling 70-57 in a competitive game. The Spartans are now 0-4 overall.
 
Colorado Northwestern played strong defense in the first half, limiting Western Nebraska to just 36.4 percent shooting and just 3-of-17 from three-point range to trail 34-28 at halftime. Western Nebraska heated up offensively in the second half, shooting 57.7 percent from the floor to lead by as many as 22 points midway through the half.
 
Donovan Maestas led Colorado Northwestern with 16 points, while Knowledge Ruben had 10 points. Pablo Torres posted 9 points. 
 
CNCC will play RSL Academy in games on both Friday and Saturday.
