RANGELY, Colo. (January 6, 2021) - The Colorado Northwestern Community College Men's Basketball team returned to the floor after a holiday break Thursday, falling in a Scenic West Athletic Conference game.
CNCC lost a 76-57 decision to regional rival USU Eastern, falling after holding a halftime lead. The loss drops the Spartans to 4-10 overall and 2-5 in the Scenic West.
It was Colorado Northwestern who jumped out to a halftime lead, 32-25, after holding USU Eastern to just 1-of-8 shooting from three-point range. Howver, the visiting Eagles turned on their offensive burners in the second half, outscoring CNCCÂ 51-25 to earn the victory.
Trevon Cason led the Spartans with 16 points, while
Noah Valdez scored 11 points.
Dom Rivas scored 9 points.
CNCC will host a game with No. 1 Salt Lake Community College on Saturday inside Hefley Gym. The game is scheduled for an 11:00 a.m. start.Â
