RANGELY, Colo. (February 28, 2021) - Sunday-matinee basketball did little to help the Colorado Northwestern Community College men's basketball team Sunday.
The Spartans, hosting the College of Southern Nevada in a back-to-back, lost an 81-76 decision to the Coyotes. CNCC drops to 2-11 and 1-6 in Scenic West play with the loss.
In a game that went back-and-forth, CNCC led for part of the first half but trailed 44-39 at halftime. With CSN leading most of the second half, the Spartans fought back to cut the deficit to 77-76 with 15 seconds left in the second half, thanks to a
Landon Bowman three-point shot, before Southern Nevada closed the game out with free throws.
Trevon Cason finished with 19 points to lead Colorado Northwestern, while Bowman posted 17 points.
Chuol Deng-Wal finished with 16 points and
Rhaven Brown scored 13 points.
Colorado Northwestern will travel to play at Salt Lake Community College Wednesday.
