RANGELY, Colo. (December 4, 2021) – A competitive Scenic West Athletic Conference matchup ended in a tough loss for the Colorado Northwestern Community College Women's Basketball team Saturday.
 
The Lady Spartans, traveling to play at the College of Southern Nevada, fell in a 73-46 decision to the Lady Coyotes. With the loss, Colorado Northwestern is now 5-5 overall and 0-2 in Scenic West play.
 
CNCC and CSN were even early, with the Lady Spartans narrowly trailing 16-13 after the first quarter. Southern Nevada then outscored Colorado Northwestern, 19-8, in the second quarter to take control of the game. The Lady Spartans shot just 18.1 percent from the floor in the game, going just 4-of-33 from three-point range. 
 
Erin Mauro finished with 16 points, while Ashana Hinds scored 8 points. Rebecca Fraley scored 7 points.
 
Colorado Northwestern will host Community Christian and Southern Idaho in Scenic West games next week. Both games will be played at Hefley Gym.
