The Spartans played host to the Mustangs of Western Wyoming on Saturday at 5:30pm at Hefley Gym.
The Mustangs came out physical and shooting well in the first quarter. Despite hot shooting from Soph.
Kallie Taylor(Riverton, UT/Summit Academy), Western Wyoming took a 4 point lead 24-20 into the second quarter.
The 2nd quarter saw the Spartans played out much the same as the Mustangs took a 10 point lead into the half. Sophomores
Alyssa Nielsen(Duchesne, UT/Duchesne) and
Kallie Taylor lead a balanced scoring attack with 10pts. each.
Colorado Northwestern mounted a steady comeback in the 3rd quarter with balanced offense and intense defense outscoring the Mustangs by 16 to lead by 6 going into the 4th quarter. A big 3 point play by Soph.
Stefani McClanahan(Rockland, ID/Rockland) and clutch free throws by Freshman
Brittany Gomez(San Antonio, TX/Brandies) helped seal the victory.
Four Spartans scored in double digets led by Soph.
Alyssa Nielsen's 21 points. Joining Nielsen in double digets were Soph.
